Review: La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream

$

0
I was using the La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream on and off last year, not giving it time to properly work on my skin. I kept saying I'll get back to it and only started to use it continuously through out December last year and half of January. I could smack myself hard for not getting back to it sooner because it has been nothing short of amazing.

The heart of all La Mer products is the Miracle Broth formulated with hand-harvested and fermented sea kelp infused with the simplest and purest of ingredients - calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and lecithin, Vitamins C, E and B12, along with oils of citrus, eucalyptus, wheat germ, alfalfa and sunflower. Used regularly the Miracle Broth helps skin renews itself and over time it improves firmness, lines, wrinkles and pores, sensitivities reduced and radiance restored. In addition to the original Creme de La Mer, there are now four additional La Mer moisturisers - The Moisturizing Soft Cream, The Moisturizing Lotion, The Moisturizing Gel Cream and The Oil Absorbing Lotion. Each has the same amount of Miracle Broth and benefits delivered in four different texture preferences.

Oddly enough when I tried out the textures, I was sure my skin would take to the lightest texture or perhaps an oil-free one, instead it went for the Moisturizing Soft Cream. I wasn't sure about how the cream would work out on my skin type but kept an open mind. Despite it being a cream texture, it is light and absorbs like a dream without leaving behind any residue. You only need a small amount as a little goes a long way. It comes with a spatula, so there's no finger dipping needed.

I felt a difference the day after with my skin feeling soft and smooth. This was pretty much the situation for the next week and a half or so. After which I started noticing my complexion started to look more radiant and my skin well hydrated yet balanced. It didn't make my skin feel any oilier. which was great. However I only used it at night as it felt a tad heavy using it under makeup, so I stuck to a gel formula moisturiser during the day.

By the end of six weeks, my complexion was radiant, my skin tone more even, my skin balanced, improvement with texture, basically it just looked all kinds of healthy. I was amazed with the results. I noticed I used less foundation as well, I didn't need so much coverage safe for some acne scarring. Really it just looked fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed using the Moisturizing Soft Cream. Dare I say it? Okay I'm going to say it, I have found my holy grail moisturiser! Yes people, holy grail.

I know this is one of those products that cost a small fortune but it's worth it. I will get back to you guys on the price once I have confirmed it.

Review: Origins Make A Difference Night

Feels like I haven't been in front of my laptop in ages. To you guys celebrating the Lunar New Year, hope the year of the goat brings good health, good fortune and loads of happiness. The plan was to wish you guys sooner but unfortunately I wasn't feeling well. I have a lot to catch up on and I am going to start with this new release from Origins that has helped keep my skin in check through out my recovery period. I actually packed it in my hospital bag as part of my basic three step routine. Wasn't going to let the skin suffer just because I was ill. I started using this overnight cream right after I finished experimenting with the La Mer moisturiser.

Origins Make A Difference range is made to 'Rehydrate & Repair' damaged skin. Origins Make A Difference Night Overnight Hydrating Repair Cream helps replenish moisture levels while you sleep especially since the skin's barrier is more vulnerable at night. This overnight cream is formulated with Rose of Jericho, Lychee, Watermelon and Rhodocrosite to help lock in moisture and support skin's natural nighttime self-repair ability.

Expect rich but not heavy from this overnight cream. It was a nice surprise finding that it absorbs quickly despite the rich texture. I used just enough so as to not have any excess product on my face or wake up looking greasy. Best way to use it if you have combination-oily skin, apply just enough or you could do with a little bit extra if your skin is looking a bit more tired or drained than usual.

My skin generally looked refreshed and nourished when I wake up in the mornings without it feeling extra greasy through out the day. It also helps to moisturise any specific dry patches, in my case, those drying up acne bits making it easier to conceal. Unlike the usual my skin feels soft and supple, what I noticed more was that my skin feels some what polished and smooth. That's a bit different. Despite being ill for nearly 2 weeks now, it doesn't seem to show on my skin, it's looking good. You might want to try this if you are on the hunt for an overnight cream, and I have to say the price is really reasonable too.

Origins Make A Difference Night retails at RM190 (50ml) and is available at all Origins outlet.

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet EDT

I'm sure you guys have seen the TVC for the Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet by now, Natalie Portman is perfection as always. Blooming Bouquet is the latest interpretation of Miss Dior, light and fresh.

The accent is more on florals instead of the usual Miss Dior powdery scents. It opens with a delicate blend of Sicilian Orange essence which goes into a floral heart, of pink peony and Damascus rose with apricot and peach complimenting the florals. It then finishes with the velvety scent of white musk. Just like previous Miss Dior fragrances, Blooming Bouquet takes the same bottle shape and it decorated with a silver ribbon at the neck.

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is a delicate and a rather romantic fragrance that's perfect for warmer days. Apt I think when Spring gets less nippy. I like the scent but I only wished it lasted through out the day on me. But I suppose with such an airy pretty scent reminiscent of a rose garden blooming under glorious sunshine, I don't really need an excuse to reapply.

Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet is now available at leading department stores. I will get back to you guys on the price as soon as possible.

Review: Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Oil Free

It's one of those products I have had for quite some time now but never really gotten around to doing a review because I have never been sure whether I would grow to like it.. or just not like it at all. The Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Oil Free is for oily skin types and is meant to have oil control properties. I have tried pairing this oil free free primer with various foundation except for Laura Mercier foundation due to colour match issues, but nothing seems to work so far.

This oil-free primer contains the antioxidants green tea extracts, vitamins A, C and E,a and cucumber that helps soothe and refresh the skin. It also contains high water-content and addresses surface dehydration and around active blemishes.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Oil Free has a light cream texture that creates a thin barrier, with a bit of silicone-y feel. It smoothes out the complexion and liquid foundations seem to blend out very easily. After finishing my base, it always seem to appear a bit white. Although this does happen with some primers, the white effect does go away after after an hour or so but with this Laura Mercier one, my face seems to stay white, and I don't even mean bright the entire day. Which also means it alters any the shade of any foundation I wear with it. So I find myself having to apply a bronzer to bring back some colour to my face which I don't mind but not exactly what I look for in a primer.

That said makeup does seem to stay put for a good 6 hours. No sliding off but requires blotting as it only helps control so much oil. The question now is, do I like it? I might consider slapping it on if I'll be running around the whole day but can't say I'm a fan of it.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer - Oil Free retails at RM135 (50ml) and is available at Laura Mercier and Sephora outlets.

Review: Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Mask

Here's a mask to try out if your complexion is looking drab or uneven skin tone and dark spots are something that you want to get rid off. A new addition to the Mega-Bright range, Dr. Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Dark Spot Correcting Night Mask is formulated to address discolouration, uneven skin tone and dark spots. This concentrated skin brightening blend of Vitamin C, rich Rosa Roxburghii plus Mulberry, White Peony, Chestnut Seed Extract and powerful hydrators dramatically helps boost resilience, visibly reverse skin tone damage, revive translucency and fade dark spots.

  • Molasses - Fermented from American grown sugarcane and is know to brighten and even skin tone.
  • Vitamin C - Functions as an anti-oxidant to fight damaging free radicals and helps create a luminous clear complexion.
  • Rosa Roxburghii - Its fruit contains highly potent anti-irritant ingredients that help quell melanin-triggering stress that leads to skin discolouration. Considered "The King of Vitamin C" , it possesses strong anti-oxidant activity, and is considered a highly active and stable form of Vitamin C.
The rich texture helps to boost hydration, but I much prefer something from the Make A Difference range when dealing with hydration. The instruction on the back says to use nightly or as needed. Curious, I tried both. I actually noticed a difference just after one night. I woke up to a bright and radiant complexion. Potent stuff. I continued nightly for another 4 days and by the end of that, I was looking 'too bright' if that makes sense. The type of  'too bright' that could potentially lead to a mismatched foundation situation, so I stopped and opted for every few days use or when my complexion was looking particularly dull and tired. Now that worked out a lot better for me, as an overnight radiance boost. Although I should think consistent use is required to visibly correct dark spots or any skin discolouration.

Dr. Weil for Origins Mega-Bright Dark Spot Correcting Night Mask is available some time mid to late March 2015 and will retails at RM250 (75ml).

Review: Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap

Ever since I started using the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush (review here) I have only paired it with the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap as I find that it does the whole cleansing job really well. Clinique recently created a partner to the cleansing brush, the Foaming Sonic Facial Soap which is an oil-free cleanser that helps bristles glide across the face to thoroughly remove dirt, excess oil and impurities.

The Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap uses Coconut Oil as a gentle cleansing agent, Sucrose and Caffeine know for their calming as well as soothing properties, and Glycerin a humectant to help prevent drying. The texture reminds me of the Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser the results however are very different. Unlike the light lather of the Liquid Facial Soap, the Foaming Sonic Facial Soap has a much denser creamy lather. I suppose it does assist in smoother gliding across the face, but only because the formulation is a creamy one.

The rinsing off was when I knew it wouldn't work for me. It left a thin film on my face regardless how many times I tried rinsing it off, leaving it feeling "unwashed". It only came off after I cleansed my face again with the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap. Double cleansing? I don't think that is what it's originally formulated to do. I tried it for a whole week then eventually gave up, the film just stayed on with a water rinse even when I used a minimal amount of product on the brush. I had high hopes for a perfect pairing but creamy cleansers are just not suited for me. Besides I'm happy very with the Liquid Facial Soap.

The Clinique Foaming Sonic Facial Soap retails at RM95 (150ml) and is available at all Clinique counters and on their online store www.clinique.com.my.

Review: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick

$

The Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick was reformulated last year, I tried it out and was really impressed with the finish. Didn't get it though because I was sure how it'll fare on a long day as I only had it on for about two hours when I tried it out. My interest piqued again after the Bobbi Brown Workshop with Felix Nguyen and I finally decided to get my hands on it.

Dubbed the 'ultimate nude foundation' Bobbi Brown's iconic Foundation Stick has been reformulated with a unique transparent base plus skin tone correct pigments for a natural look. It contains an innovative blend of emollients - olive oil extracts and shea butter which helps to moisturise skin so the skin stays looking soft and smooth all day. Light diffusing powders and oil-control minerals help perfect the appearance of skin while reducing shine.

I was matched to Golden Natural which has enough yellow pigments in it to match my skin tone. Yes, it is a good match! The texture is amazingly light although slightly creamy, it blends out seamlessly. The finish is dewy but not oily and there is a bit of tackiness to it that needs a little getting use to if you have oily skin and don't usually go for this type of finish. All you have to do set it with some loose powder. The dewiness does come back in a few hours but I have been loving the dewy look on my cheeks, and I'm amazed that I don't look extra shiny in that area through out the day. That said I have no control over my t-zone and it does tend to get more oilier than usual, something I have willingly overlooked, but nothing a bit of blotting and some powder can't fix.

The finish though is so smooth that it looks fantastic both in person and in photos. Due to its texture, the Skin Foundation Stick can give you sheer right up to full coverage and it hides everything. For concealing my scars or hyper pigmentation I just dab it on, blend and it's concealed. It stays on for a good 8 hours with minimal transfer when blotting. I do however wear the Bobbi Brown CC Cream (review here) underneath to help make it last longer.

There are a few ways you can use the Skin Foundation Stick - apply with a foundation brush to achieve a sheer coverage, or lightly swipe it on to your face and blend it out with your fingers if you're in a hurry this works fast and gives a natural finish, or my preferred way of using it swiping it on the face and blending it out with a buffing brush for a seamless medium coverage. Either way, coverage is buildable. It's also easy to bring around in the make up bag for touch ups.

The Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick does not contain any spf making it perfect for an evening out or where there's flash photography involved. It retails at RM155 (9g) and is available in 24 skin tone correct shades.

Review: SK-II Auractivator CC Cream

The all new SK-II Auractivator CC (Complete Correction) Cream promises glowing skin. SK-II Auractivator CC Cream enables hollistic brightening through a three-fold action - providing immediate radiance on the surface of the skin, working on the inner layers of the skin to reduce melanin, the cause of dark spots and protecting the skin from further damage with UV protection. This new innovation came on the back of a recent breakthrough discovery - Genoptics inspired by the science of skin and light. SK-II has discovered that the skin naturally grows darker as it ages, making it harder for natural radiance to come through.

The Auractivator CC Cream is housed in a tube with a pump dispenser which keeps things much cleaner compared to a normal tube. It is a light beige shade and only comes in one shade, although it doesn't really show when applied. It has a light texture that applies easily but stays on tacky. It contains super micro shimmer which is only noticeable when you look very closely, I'm assuming this is part of what gives the CC Cream a glowing radiant look.

Here's the thing about the Auractivator CC Cream, I find that it goes on with a white cast for me despite applying a thin layer, I was hoping it'll blend out and disappear but didn't. I suppose the presence of titanium dioxide doesn't really help. In terms of coverage it doesn't offer any, it's meant to be sheer. So if you have any blemishes or hyper pigmentation, it will show. I left it on for about two hours lounging around the house to see how it would turn out, unfortunately it left my complexion looking grey and dull. As for the healthy glowing effect, I ended up looking shiny and blotchy. I did try to use it as a base, this was on a different day, it ended up having a white cast as well.

I'm not sure how the SK-II CC Cream could work for medium tan skin, but I should think it would suit someone with fair skin tone well. Minimal blemishes would also help as it doesn't offer any coverage. It's more to get that 'wake up tired dull skin' kind of thing. If you are concerned with dark spots, you might want to find out about specific SK-II products instead.

SK-II Auractivator CC Cream retails at RM274 (30g) and is available at all SK-II counters.

Review: The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Overnight Triple Boost Serum

Picking up from where I left off with The Body Shop Moisture White™ Shiso Eye Serum, I have been trying out the recently introduced The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Overnight Triple Booster Serum and I'm going to start it off with this - 'Results So Fast It's Scary'. Don't worry, nothing went wrong during the test period, so keep your pants on and read on.

The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Overnight Triple Booster Serum works in three ways - helps  improve pigmented spots and freckles by inhibiting melanin production, reduces the appearance of existing dark spots, and delivers intense hydration to enhance overall skin luminosity. It is formulated with vitamin C, liquorice, shiso and aloe vera.

The Overnight Triple Booster Serum is a light textured pearlescent cream that sinks into the skin easily and has helped lighten the bits of hyper pigmentation from my recent breakout. So those hyper pigmentation that usually takes about over a month to slowly lighten, has reduced in intensity in half the time.

I was also looking radiant and bright which I started to notice the first few days of trying out the serum and that effect continues, but eventually I started looking a bit 'too bright'. Don't get me wrong, although it was nice to see my skin tone evening up and looking clearer as a whole 2 weeks, I started having mismatch foundation problems.. It seems that I had gotten a tad fairer!

The serum delivers good results but with a side effect that I don't particularly fancy. I'm considering reducing the frequency of use to maybe once every alternate days or as a spot treatment for the scars. I'm not sure yet. I didn't however notice any moisturising properties with the serum. But if the results above is something you guys are looking for then you should give this a go.

The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Overnight Triple Booster Serum retails at RM188.60 (30ml), you only need the smallest amount per use, and is available at The Body Shop outlets or www.thebodyshop.com.my.

You guys may have seen a flood of 'just woke up' selfies on the weekend of March 8th. It is part of Marie Claire Malaysia 'Wake Up To A Good Cause' campaign in conjunction with the magazine turning 21 this year. The campaign, in support of Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) aims t create awareness on violence against women while raising funds for WAO. It is shocking to note that one in every three women in the world has suffered from some from of abuse. WAO has estimated that 39% of Malaysian women have either been physically, mentally or emotionally abused.

The campaign encourages the public to post an out-of-bed bare-faced 'selfie' of themselves and upload it to Instagram with the correct hash tags and caption: Marie Claire will donate RM10 to WAO for every upload. They are also encouraged to nominate five friends to do the same. Marie Claire will donate RM10 for each uploaded photo up to a total of RM21,000 to WAO.

I posted mine on the 8th March weekend and hopefully I'll try to post a few more. I took mine with Tammy and Jean. Tammy organised a Butterfly Project session in a sweet hotel room generously sponsored by Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. Loads of fun! Here are some of the photos taken by Jean. Ok so these are really wefies, working on those selfies.

Melvita Bio-Excellence Naturalift - Redefines Facial Contours

Melvita Bio-Excellence Naturalift Youthful Skin Extraordinary Water and Melvita Bio-Excellence Naturalift Youthful Serum are two new additions to Melvita's organic anti-ageing skin care range Bio-Excellence Naturalift. The range is targeted at cellular ageing and works to smooth wrinkles, fine lines and redefine facial contours with ingredients derived from the precious organic four plant buds. Beech, pine, blackcurrant and raspberry plant extracts work together to strengthen the skin's natural defences and help it to resist oxidation.

Melvita Bio-Excellence Naturalift Youthful Skin Extraordinary Water is enriched with Melvita's patented bud complex and naturally derived hyaluronic acid, this pre-care gel water visibly smoothes and firms. It prepares skin perfectly for the products that follow and leaves it soft, hydrated and plumped. This particular floral water has light rose scent that is non-intrusive which I really like. It has a unique fluid gel texture that does apply a tad sticky but goes away after a few seconds. I don't usually add on new products to my AM routine but I decided to include this rose water because it has been so nice to use. It gives that extra bit of instant hydration and leaves my skin soft with just two drops. My skin doesn't get anymore oily than it usually is. I have been particularly loving this floral water.

Melvita Bio-Excellence Naturalift Youthful Serum is enriched with natural hyaluronic acid and rye extract, this serum both hydrates and helps restore elasticity. The bud complex replenishes the skin - the hibiscus extract smoothes the skin where as the oat extract has a tightening effect. The light cream texture absorbed quickly leaving my skin feeling comfortable.

I didn't really notice obvious results within the first two weeks with these two products. So I pretty much applied and forgot about it. It was in the fourth week and some patience that I notice my skin looking gradually smoother and a bit more plump. My skin looked really good under makeup. I'm not sure if you guys notice the difference in the photo below though.

Melvita Bio-Excellence Naturalift Youthful Skin Extraordinary Water retails at RM98 (100ml) and Melvita Bio-Excellence Naturalift Youthful Serum RM240 (30ml). The entire range is now available at Melvita stores.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Powder Foundation

Urban Decay has introduced two new base products for Spring, a powder foundation and a concealer. I have been trying them both out and I have thoughts on them. I wanted to review them together but figured it's best to do separate reviews.

Urban Decay Naked Skin High Definition Powder Foundation provides a weightless demi-matte finish with HPP (Highlighter Performing Pigments) Technology which provides the perfect level of coverage to even out skin tone and optical blurring pigments creates a soft-focus effect.

It took me a while to choose a shade as most of them were pink based, but I eventually settled for Medium Light Warm which has a bit more yellow pigments in it. The texture is buttery soft and it applies really smooth. It comes with a two sided sponge, the airy side to pick up and apply while the soft fluffy side to buff it in to get that smooth finish. There are actually two ways you can use it, either use it dry meaning the usual way or wet for more coverage. I can't say I have used a powder foundation wet before and I'm yet to try it with this one.

Using it dry it's buffs out smooth and does minimise the appearance of my pores with no cakiness. The coverage is light but buildable and I used it on top of a CC Cream and some concealer, I was having a good skin day in the photo. It lasted for a good 7 hours without melting off and help my complexion look bright and fresh through out, except for my t-zone that required touch-ups. The Naked Skin Powder Foundation is also oil free.

Here's something extra, they have also included a pretty pouch in a purple X-Rayed flower design that you can keep you compact in. I don't know about you guys, but I sure do get stressed out when my compacts get scratched. Not only does the Naked Skin Powder Foundation get points for the sleek bronze compact but extra points for the pouch!

In case you're not sure on how to choose the right shade for the Naked Skin Powder Foundation, like how I ended up mulling over it for over 30 minutes, here's a tip - the first part represents shade intensity, and the second indicates shade undertone.

Urban Decay Naked Skin High Definition Powder Foundation comes in 14 shades, retails at RM140 (9g) and is available at Sephora outlets.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

When it comes to concealer I usually stick to the tried and tested because on most days I have loads to cover up, from acne scars to dark circles, you name it, I got it covered. The high-tech liquid formula of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer provides buildable coverage with an invisible Naked Skin feel without settling into lines.

I opted for a shade that I could use for my dark circles instead of acne scars and ended up with Medium Neutral. I wanted to go for one shade lighter so that it will look brighter but the shade didn't really suit me and turned out looking greyish. So with Medium Neutral it manages to cover, just not so much brighten. But setting it with the Urban Decay Naked Skin High Definition Powder Foundation in Medium Light Warm (review here) which does help brighten it a little.

Now the application wand is something different, instead of the usual doe foot, this one's a flat surface making it pretty easy to control the amount you need when applying. The light creamy formula blends effortlessly onto the under eyes. Although coverage is buildable I found it a tad of a challenge to cover up the dark circles on days when sleep has been scarce, but otherwise it covers well enough. As for settling into lines, unfortunately it does happen on me after a few hours, simply because my lines don't seem so fine anymore. It lasts for about 6 hours with migrating after my oils take over and I do notice that it doesn't looks as smooth as when first applied.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer comes in 8 shades, retails at RM105 (5ml) and is available at Sephora outlets.

Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick - Sheer Ladyflower and Sheer Anarchy

Go sheer for Spring with the new Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick. It's the perfect formula for warmer or in this case hot weather without feeling heavy on the lips. Sheer Revolution uses a Pigment Infusion System giving it a super creamy texture, superior colour dispersion and extended wear. The formula is laced with Maxi-Lip which defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller, with a blend of shea butter, jojoba, olive oil and babassu oils moisturise and condition, while vitamin C and vitamin E which provides a hit of antioxidants.

Sheer Revolution Lipstick comes in various neutrals and brights. Sheer Ladyflower is a sheer rose-pink with cool undertones while Sheer Anarchy is a sheer bright fuschia. Despite being described as sheer, both shades look more of a semi-opaque on me with my natural lip colours still subtly obvious. The texture is creamy and it has incredible slip for it to effortlessly glide on the lips . It gives the lips a shiny finish when first applied but is less obvious after about an hour. At which time the colour becomes more obivous. It wears well and is comfortable on the lips, keeps it hydrated for as long as it's on. It lasts for about 4 hours, and does go off after a meal. Although Sheer Anarchy does leave a light tint. I really like wearing these, Sheer Ladyflower is definitely a new favourite, especially for days when I want a low impact color that goes with everything.

Sheer Revolution Lipstick is housed in a custom-designed light purple case. The multi-faceted surface feels amazing and seriously cool! Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick retails at RM85 (2.8g) and is availabe at Sephora outlets.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana

Oh hello there beautiful! I must admit I couldn't stop staring at the original Dolce when it came out last year, and I still can't stop starring at the Dolce Floral Drops for Spring 2015. Everything about it is so pretty.. Dolce Floral Drops is a light fresh floral which is a perfect celebration of the season of beautiful blooms.

It is the clarity of dawn.
It is the delicate scent of freshly picked white flowers, still wet with dew.
It is the crispness of Neroli leaves that accompany and enhance their aroma.
It is the echo of laughter from your beloved and the light trail of her perfume that triggers the memory.
It is Dolce Floral Drops, the new fragrance by Dolce&Gabbana.

The Eau de Toilette is inspired by the notes of Dolce Eau de Parfum, preserving its harmonious signature of white flowers, with a heart of White Amaryllis. Dolce Floral Drops combines these ingredients with the lively and crisp green opening of Neroli leaves, that enriches its character and define its freshness right from the opening of the fragrance.

Top notes: Neroli leaves, Papaya Flower
Heart notes: White Amaryllis, White Daffodil, White Water Lily
Base notes: Cashmeran, Musky notes, Sandalwood
Olfactive Family: Floral, Fresh floral.

The Dolce Floral Drops bottle recalls the unique shape of Dolce: thick glass, curved lines and a solid bottom, with a cap in the shape of a sculpted flower with milky white petals. Unlike the clear glass of Dolce, the frosted glass of Dolce Floral Drops gives it a misty green colour, presenting a dew-kissed tone, and expressing the fresh delicateness of the fragrance.

Kate King once again returns to interpret the soul of Dolce Floral Drops. With such profound eyes and aristocratic features, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana see her as the modern incarnation of Angelica-Claudia Cardinale in “The Leopard”.

Dolce Floral Drops is available at leading department stores and perfumeries.

Bobbi Brown Face Mist

There is no better time to start misting than the current. Bobbi Brown has introduce their new Face Mist, a skin boosting spray that hydrates and soothes skin for a healthy glow. This water-based formula instantly sets and revitalilzes makeup for a fresh appearance with long-term moisturising benefits. It is enriched with vitamins and botanical extracts and the calming scent of Lavender and Geranium Essential Oils which helps to soothe skin for a healthy looking complexion while moisturising the skin for a plumped-up look and feel.

What's in it - Glycerin, a super humectant which locks n moisture and instantly plumps the skin; a Vitamin B derivative helps moisturise and condition skin over time; as well as Caffeine and natural botanical ant-irritants, Chamomile, Cucumber and Green Tea Extracts, help calm the skin for an even balanced complexion.

It smells amazing! Fresh breezy with a touch of floral. The mist comes out really fine so you don't feel drenched. Not only can the Face Mist be applied over make up as refresher, but it can also be applied on freshly cleansed skin before your moisturiser to prep the skin or over moisturiser for a extra hydration. I love using this right before I put on my moisturiser, it makes my skin feels super fresh. Either way you use it, and I have tried them all, it doesn't leave the skin looking shiny at all, if that's what you're worried about, just feeling awakened. Happy misting!

Bonus! Face Mist is approved to pack in  a carry-on luggage during flights. It's a 100ml.

Bobbi Brown Face Mist retails at RM120 (100ml) and is available at all Bobbi Brown outlets.

The limited edition Facial Treatment Essence Pink Rose is a collaboration between SK-II and up-and-coming artist Po-Chih Huang. Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF 40 Review

A skincare-makeup hybrid is just so convenient, covering up while treating. The new Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF 40 is made through a cutting edge bi-phase cold fusion process that allows the skincare actives to stay potent, while fusing seamlessly with foundation pigments. Skin-tone correct pigments float over the skin's surface, rather than settling in for a silky feel and fresh natural look.

How It Works
- Re-Energizes: Powerful Cordyceps Mushroom Extract helps encourage the cell repair process by replenishing skin cells with the energy they need to optimally function.
- Restores Radiance: Bamboo Grass Extract targets dullness and uneven skin tone to enhance skin's radiance, clarity and luminosity, while algae extract reduces unwanted shine and tighten pores over time.
- Boosts Moisture: A complex blend of Lychee, Watermelon and Apply Extracts hydrates skin and boosts its natural moisture levels and instantly overtime.
- Firm, Lifts & Smoothes: Peptide Technology-Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 helps stimulate natural collagen production for firmer and lifted skin.
- Barrier Repair: A natural deep sea ferment from the ocean floor helps to strengthen skin and prevent moisture from escaping.

The packaging screams chic! I am however curious as to whether that dropper goes all the way to the bottom. It's also difficult to see how much is left. A clear see through strip on the side perhaps? And although the dropper dispenser seem cool and dispenses just the right amount, it does tend to get a bit messy at the top of the bottle. All that aside, I have been looking forward to this new serum foundation.

I wear a Warm Natural (4.5) and it's a good match to my skin tone. As the name describes it, the texture is serum-like, not the runny type but a tad on the thicker side. It's really easy to blend out either using your fingertips or a brush. Coverage wise, I would say it's a light to slightly medium, not really buildable. It gives you a dewy fresh finish and lets your natural skin to shine through which is great if you have minimal imperfections. If like me you have any hyper pigmentation or post acne scars it's a little obvious but nothing some concealer can't fix.

Going back to that dewy finish on oily skin, I really like the finish of it, plus it doesn't cling on to any dry patches and looks smooth. Unfortunately it does run off at the nose area after about 2-3 hours which requires touching up. But the rest of the face stays on well for about 6 hours especially after setting it with some loose powder, after which the oiliness gets a bit difficult to sort out. It doesn't seem to oxidise too much, still looks pretty bright after a few hours. Just thought I would mention that I wore this foundation with the Bobbi Brown CC Cream as a base.

-
You might want to skip this if you have really oily skin and just can't deal with the dewiness and lack of oil control properties, or if you still want to give this a go, avoid wearing this on days when you're mostly outdoors. I haven't exactly seen dramatic results skincare wise over the past two weeks but what I have noticed is that my skin feels soft and looks a bit brighter.

The Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation SPF40 comes in 11 shades. It retails for RM195 and is available at all Bobbi Brown outlets.
